I did some changing around here - First of all I enabled Google Adsense since if I'm going to link books and share some thoughts that might be worth something for someone, I can at least try to monetize a bit while doing so. Would be super nice to be able to generate an additional income stream out of writing about something as cool as investing. Even if it's just a tiny trickle.
A little about me - I was really interested about stock markets back in the 90's when my parents were ordering a news paper to our house which featured stock market pages and had all these open/close and high/low prices for stocks. I don't recall my dad ever explaining their meaning to me in the depth that he explained a lot of other things, so they remained a curiosity for years to come.
At some point in the 00's I received a call from a company called Alexandria. They have a reputation in Finland and at the moment it's not that good. However, I had a talk with their sales rep and he talked me over in to starting a monthly saving program with a small sum of money, insignificant at the time.
Over the years I had meetings with Alexandria staff and it became clear to me that I had absolutely no idea how their funds were connected to stock markets and what their sleazy sales reps were telling me - I thought investing was a better idea than saving to a bank account however, but 2008 saw my investment savings plummet. What a bummer, but luckily the money I had invested was something I could afford losing. My investments recovered like most investments did, ofcourse, but the crash left me wondering if I should study this subject of investing.
Fast forward to summer 2011, I'm sitting in a van with a guy called Timo who I worked with back then. He was thinking more to himself than me, that the shit he was doing for living wasn't exactly what he had wished for, and perhaps he should consider enrolling to study something. I think that was the final push I needed - so I started searching for information on how I could study financing and investing. 2012 January I found myself from BBA evening course and 2015 I graduated as bachelor of business administration with my majors being financing & investing and management accounting.
Back then I thought I knew something about investing - and I still do. However, due to my limited resources I find myself constantly struggling - all these opportunities, and so little capital.
